Credit: Thinkstock Computerworld Australia has compiled a list of upcoming technology events for the Australian IT industry taking place in the following weeks and months. With the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person conferences and summits may be rescheduled or canceled unexpectedly, so be sure to verify an event’s status before scheduling travel. This list will be updated as we hear of more events, so keep checking for updates. August 2022 4 August: Data and Analytics Summit, Brisbane. The event will explore how public and private bodies can improve data connectivity and accessibility, establish first-class data governance frameworks and leverage analytics for improved data-storytelling. 10-11 August: EduTech, Melbourne. EduTech focuses on improving teaching, training and learning and raising the education standards by bringing together educators and technology providers to exchange and explore ideas. 16 August: Digital Workplace Summit, Sydney. Speakers from Atlassian, Finder and Swinburne University, among others, will discuss the core challenges in achieving a flexible and collaborative digital workplace to improve the effectiveness of individuals and teams. September 2022 8-9 September: ISACA Conference Oceania, virtual. The conference open to members and non-members will cover various cybersecurity topics including digital trust, emerging trends, IT risk and cybersecurity management and more. 12-14 September: Gartner IT Symposium and Xpo, Gold Coast. The yearly event will focus in 2022 on how expectations have changed the role of CIOs. Attendees will gain insights on the future direction of technology, best practices to define and validate their IT strategies and real-world examples on how to execute on key initiatives. October 2022 25-27 October: Activate Symposium, Sydney. Brought by the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE), the event will bring together representatives from across government, business and academia to help Australia meet the post-pandemic challenge of STEM skills shortage and to create a future-focused strategy from kindergarten to the workforce. 26-28 October: Unbound Australia, Sydney. The innovation event will showcase growing startup and innovation ecosystem with discussions on technology, AI, FinTech, GovTech, Smart Cities and more. November 2022 7-8 November: Gartner Data & Analytics Summit, Sydney. The event promises to teach skills to build and execute a world-class data strategy. 15-16 November: Technology & Innovation APAC, Sydney and online. This Forrester event will have specialists discussing how technology leaders are embracing new ways of being innovative with technology, and discover key strategic opportunities to help organisations grow.
